Some more Momenta goodness!

So, this past month I turned 39. Yep, that's the age that no one actually believes. I won't lie... I feel way too young to be this old, but as my dad says: "It beats the alternative!!"
I used some of my Momenta goodies to make a layout about my fun birthday weekend. I was treated to a mother-daughter manicure with Sidney (my first manicure since my wedding in 1999!), dinner at Ferro (yum!), brunch with the family (minus my sister-in-law and nephew who were out with the flu) and some crafty and antique shopping...heaven!!! I felt very lucky and spoiled.

Smashing Project Life

All the amazing Project Life posts in the blogosphere inspired me to start my own version of PL. In Canada, it's really hard to get the Project Life kit, so I decided to improvise.
Santa was kind enough to bring Sid and me a Smash book this year and I had no idea what I was going to do with it. At first, I thought it would be an inspiration journal, but I quickly remembered how many of those unfinished beauties I have lying around. So, a light bulb went off in my head and Smashing Project life was born.
I'm keeping it really simple. One page (or more) per week. Point form journaling. Small pictures cut out with scissors and glued in. No lengthy design strategies to follow. Just free form memories.
I'm keeping track of daily events with the Momento app on my Ipod and filling the book in weekly. And yes, I'm already behind! (Mostly due to the fact that my printer died this week...boo hoo!)
Here's a look at the first few pages (click the pictures to see them bigger):

My title page is a little muddled as I started it when the book was still going to be an inspiration journal. Thanks for taking a peek!

First Momenta Project

I was tickled pink to come home Friday night to find a *HUGE* box by my front door. My Momenta stuff had arrived!!
I didn't get much time to play the weekend since it was my birthday (highlights to come on another post/layout) and I was busy goofing off with family. I did however spend some time making the chevron pattern seen on my layout. It took a while but I love how it came out and I have more left over for use on future cards. I used four colours of patterned paper and followed Jen Maguire's tutorial on YouTube.
I had a wonderfully crafty morning here playing with my new goodies and putting it all together. Here's my first page! (Click to see the images bigger)

The papers and embellishments are really easy to work with and work well together. The colors are fun and very saturated, love that. I am absolutely smitten with the Puffy Alphas too. I need more of those!!
